Where Is The Love?

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Whether you are into Valentine’s or not, I’m sending you some love this holiday… because I think we all could use some!

So far this winter has brought heartbreak, shock, deep disappointment, fear, new agreements, sudden transitions, and protests.  On a personal level, national level, and global level, we are in the thick of it.

In a climate of descent, discord, and separation, like we’ve been in… those of us devoted to being loving, guardians of human rights and mother nature are having our spiritual muscles tested.

I’m seeing many people exhausted from anger, fear, worry & grief… and really just the sheer amount of constant change, input, and upset.

These times are shaping us and our consciousness by asking us to be discerning about who and what we give our energy to, discerning about where our boundaries are and what we will not tolerate, discerning about how much we are online versus in our lives, and deliberate about self-care, sleep, and spiritual practice.

I’ve been practicing all the above to move through my own heartbreak, so I can keep showing up for my work, the people in my life, and participate in the national and global issues that so need us right now.

These are skills that we can all cultivate, and I believe what is needed in the fires of transformation we are in right now.

How can we honor our boundaries and stay in relationship? How can we disagree with one another, discuss what has caused us pain, and listen with an open heart? How can we create new agreements for relating, without name-calling, hate, and vengeful action.

Disagreement, Disappointment, & Despair can drive us to darkness or it can spark our light. At the root of these experiences is fear and heartbreak.  Learning how to work with both, and shine light on what is lurking in our own shadows, can be the difference between paralysis, and inspired action.

Don’t do it alone, there’s support out here. Find healthy ways to process your emotions, and heal any heartbreaks. Learn how to stay connected to yourself and those you are in relationship with through the storms.

If you find yourself asking, where is the love, let me help you find it! You can reply to this email to setup a free consult, and we'll talk about how to do just that. And I’m working on some new courses and workshops for this year, stay tuned.

with love,

I had the honor of participating in a podcast project about Race called the Human Kind project. It was good to be a part of an honest, thoughtful, and candid conversation about race between people of different backgrounds.... Scroll down to Episode 01: A seat at the table to listen.

And here’s another podcast interview I did with Ben of Tantra Punk, where we talk about Race, Gender, and how Tantra can help us overcome the shadows we have in these areas.
